Our Mission

Making Political Influence
Transparent & Accessible

Every product you buy sends money to a company — and many of those companies spend millions on political donations, lobbying, and campaign contributions. WalletVote puts that information in the palm of your hand.

Why WalletVote Exists

Political contribution data is public — it's filed with the Federal Election Commission, published on government websites, and available for anyone to look up. But let's be honest: nobody has time to search FEC.gov every time they pick up a box of cereal.

WalletVote bridges that gap. We've built a database of thousands of products, brands, and their parent companies, then linked them to their FEC committees, lobbying filings, and SEC disclosures. You scan a barcode, and within seconds you know exactly where that company's political money goes.

We don't tell you what to buy. We don't tell you which party is better. We believe that an informed consumer is a powerful consumer — and that transparency itself is the point. Whether you want to support companies that align with your values or simply understand the political landscape behind your purchases, WalletVote gives you the tools to decide for yourself.

Where the Data Comes From

Every number in WalletVote traces back to an official government filing. Here are our primary sources — all public domain, all free.

🇺🇸

Federal Election Commission (FEC)

We ingest millions of records from the FEC bulk data files — every individual contribution, PAC donation, and committee filing since 2016. This is the gold standard for tracking who gives money to whom in American politics.

Senate LDA (Lobbying Disclosure Act)

Registered lobbyists are required to disclose their political contributions semi-annually. We pull these LD-203 filings directly from the Senate API to show you who's lobbying on behalf of the brands you buy.

SEC EDGAR

Public companies file annual reports (10-K), event disclosures (8-K), and proxy statements (DEF 14A) with the SEC. We surface these filings so you can see executive compensation, governance decisions, and risk factors.

News Aggregation

We aggregate political and business news from Google News, Bing News, and Reddit — all via free RSS feeds. No single source has a monopoly on the truth, so we pull from multiple to give you the full picture.
