Device Identifier
We generate an anonymous device identifier to track your scan history, watchlist preferences, and community votes. This identifier is not tied to your name, email address, phone number, or any personally identifiable information (PII). We do not require account creation or login.
Camera Access
WalletVote requests access to your device's camera solely for the purpose of scanning product barcodes. Camera images are processed locally on your device to extract barcode data. We do not store, transmit, or retain any photos or camera footage.
Usage Data
We collect anonymous usage data such as which brands are scanned and how often. This aggregate data helps us improve the app and is never linked to your identity.
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
- Names, email addresses, or phone numbers
- Location data or GPS coordinates
- Contacts, calendar, or other device data
- Financial information or payment details
- Photos, videos, or audio recordings
- Browsing history outside the app
4. Political Data Sources
All political contribution and lobbying data displayed in WalletVote comes from official U.S. Government sources that are freely available in the public domain:
- Federal Election Commission (FEC) — Campaign contributions, PAC donations, and committee filings
- Senate Lobbying Disclosure Act (LDA) — Registered lobbyist filings and political contributions
- SEC EDGAR — Public corporate filings and disclosures
This data is factual and sourced directly from government databases. We do not editorialize, endorse, or recommend political positions.
5. Third-Party Services
We do not sell, share, or provide your data to third-party advertisers. We do not use third-party analytics trackers or advertising SDKs. WalletVote does not display advertisements.
6. Data Storage & Security
Your anonymous device identifier, scan history, and preferences are stored on secure servers. Data is transmitted using HTTPS/TLS encryption. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.

- Opt out of any future data collection by uninstalling the app
